July 18, 2011

Last P day was ruined by Interviews, and tuesday was crazy because they slept over to do district meeting the next day. Basically Elder Richards and I just breakdanced all night. He then slept in my bed and took all of the room because he is so fat. He didn´t want to sleep with his companion again and I don´t blame him, but I was cramped all night because of it.

Tuesday I wrestled with Elder Yaringaño and I had him in a position to do a Judo throw, but I didn´t want him to get hurt on the tile, so I had mercy, but that left me in a bad disadvantage as far and I was left wide open and he put me in a headlock and brought me to the ground and he almost broke my neck. Elder Gillette took video with his camera and you can totally hear my neck crack. Next time I am going to throw him and I don´t care what happens... Ok I won´t throw him, but I will freaking tackle him and put him in a arm bar until he taps out. I think that´s ok right? I mean we are wearing Garments after all.

Wednesday we went to a place called Barrio Wohn Park. I totally thought it would be an Asian community because of the name, but it turned out to be a bunch of Freaking Rich Germans that can´t speak Spanish. I want to learn German better, so I can baptize them, cuz they all have pools. Ich Weiss Dass Das Kirche Jesu Kristi Warheit ist¡ Gott ist ihr Himmlichen Vater¡

So thursday, we had to pass something to Elder Richards while he was on the bus. He forgot it and apparently it was super important. Luckily we had to drop off the encomienda and we were in that area anyways. We ate at Pizza Boom for lunch while we waited for his bus to arrive. Plan Guasu is legit with a map.

We´ve been teaching a drunk guy who wants to baptize his kids. Friday we found him when he wasn´t drunk and he was equally funny, but he actually understood what we were teaching and now he wants to stop drinking and get baptized too. He understands the importance of prophets and the great apostasy. Cool huh? When he is drrrrrrunk he always rrrrrrolls his rrrrr´s. "Yo quierrro escucharrr la palabrrra de Dios¡ ¿Como puedo bautizarrrrrrrr a mis hijos?"

On saturday we didn´t have much luck because of rain, so we went to Hna P´s and made pancakes and talked a while. It was fun. We keep harassing Bibi the 26 year old about getting married. She is still single. She calls me a child, but what do I care at least I´m not Old like her. ha ha ha.

On Sunday only 8 people came to church because of the terrible rain storm. We ate asado at Hna.P´s and watched the first 30min of Copa America Paraguay vs Brasil. Later we tried proselyting, but it was hard with the rain, mud, and everybody was watching the game. Paraguay won within the last ten minutes 2 to 0. After the game ended we taught a family. Familia Florentine is composed of 9 people 6 of which are of baptismal age. The dad´s name is Gabriel and he says that he doesn´t disbelieve anything we have taught so far, but it´s hard to believe that All Powerful God would allow almost 2000 years of Apostasy. At least he was listening. We invited him to pray and I believe he will. His wife has a moustache worse than Micah´s.
We also managed to get in 1 more lesson. It was kinda bad because everybody was practically asleep, but we will teach them again next time when they are more awake. Another big/good family.

Love you guys. Thanks for the Bday Love¡

JUly 12, 2011

Hello family,

This will be just a quick little E-mail (Obviously because it´s not p-day, but I´ll explain that in a minute)

I don´t have much to say about last week and I don´t have much time anyways. We did divisions with the zone leaders and it was pretty awesome. Found some cool families.
Anyways Yesterday. Pday We had interviews with President Callan. It made me mad because they switched it at the last minute, it was supposed to be on tuesday. It was kinda dumb because we wasted our whole Pday on the bus. We got up, did some study, tried to do internet, but it was broken, dropped off our clothes to get washed, and then went to Encarnacion on a crappy bus that smelled like BO and was really hot and it took 2 hours. We got there and ate lunch around 12 at a buffet called American grill (That was the only Good part). I ate like 5 plates of food, tons of red jello, and 4 bowls of ice-cream. My comp was sick the entire day by the way.
We tried to do internet again, but there wasn´t a place nearby and we had interviews at 3:00, so we didn´t end up doing it and we didn´t have time to do shopping either. The interviews took an hour. I played the piano at the church while waiting. I got your package (I really liked what you gave me, but What happened to the usb with music i´m dying here¡). Then immediately after we had to go back to Obligado. Because we were going to do district meeting the other Elders slept over. We had Family night, but it didn´t go according to plan. The people we invited didn´t show up and my companion was too sick to make pancakes anyways. We went home at 8 so my comp could sleep.

So thats why i´m writing to you today. I´m not a Macanero... I hope.
¡All is well and All is crazy¡ Love,

First thing I want to say is that after 21 I decided to not celebrate my birthday anymore. By my rules that means I will stop aging. I still can get to celebrate Christmas though.

Second thing I want to say is...

The third thing I´m going to say is that I forgot to write down on a piece of paper the events from my journal, so you aren´t getting a lot of info on this week.

Fourth thing is celebrating your b day in paraguay sucks so by my own rules I get to celebrate 2 birthdays more without getting older.

Fifth thing is The mail isn´t coming because the office elders changed.

Seventh thing is Where did six go¿

Sixth thing is I don´t care about the shoes I´ll send you a picture of how bad my hush puppies are in a year to send to missionary mall.

Eight.

So anyways I can´t remeber what happened this week, but here we go¡
Monday was P-day. Tuesday at night Elder Richards (BF) and Elder Yaringaño came over and stayed the night to do divisions on wednesday. We pushed the beds together, but Elder Richards decided to sleep on  the floor. Elder Yaringaño had half the bed to sleep on, but instead he decided to sleep on me. I woke up several times because he took all the blankets and he also cut off all the circulation to my arm, so it hurt a lot. Elder Gillette and Elder Richards had no problems sleeping.
So we did double divisions. We all stayed in my area and we worked our butts off. Elder Richards was with Elder Gillette until 6 and then we switched. When we came back home we made awesome omellettes. Elder Richards and I talked about everything. Long story short the day was fun, but the night was long.

     Thursday. Plan guasu. Um... yeah.
     Friday. Ummm... yeah.
Saturday. Went to Los colonos and we taught some people.
Sunday. 31 people went to church. Consejo de Rama was a failure. Nobody wants to work and nobody has faith enough to try (Not everybody, but I won´t mention names... But he´s 60, he´s Chileno, he once robbed tithing money, he committed bigamy when he got married to a 30yr old, but he acts like a saint in church. His true character shows when you talk to him at his house though. What a jerk). Hna P told us that they can´t afford to feed us every day anymore. She´s still going to feed us tuesday, thursday, and friday, but starting after my birthday this tragedy will go into affect. Elder Richards and Elder Yarinaño came over again to celebrate my Bday the next day. And to take out money and do some shopping, they really didn´t know it was b day until they came over.

Today. The Elders messed around with us today. We ate at Hna.P´s and had cake. Elder Richards bought me a Bakugan action figure for a present. The normal place where we do internet isn´t working right now, so we had to find another place. The place we found only has one computer, but I´m really good at flirting (aka Playing with babies) so She´s letting me use her Laptop.

I´m kinda out of time and things to say, so Thanks for everything family¡

Wishing I had fireworks,

June 27, 2011

Dear family,

For some reason mail hasn't come for the past 3 weeks. I am feeling very disanimated right now, so you won´t get a super long email.

Monday
Our cell phone broke and there was only a half pday because of the Temple Trip (Finally). Not having a phone for 5 days makes everything harder. We left for Encarnacion at 6:30pm, a thirty minute walk to the main road that passes outside of Obligado and then an hour drive to Encarnacion. So the bus to Asuncion didn´t leave until 11:30pm and that means we had 2 and a half hours to mess around. We ate at Burger King and went to a park to take pictures and mess around. My companion is in love with Elder Richards. I´ll try not to say anything else negative, but he is now Elder Richard´s shadow whenever they are together and he doesn´t even seem to like me. Kinda immature and kinda a jerk, but that´s the last negative thing I´ll say now.

Tuesday
We arrived at Asuncion at 5am and got to the temple at 5:30, so we took pictures until the Temple workers showed up at 6. We were the first ones there so we did Baptisms until the 7 o´clock session. I did 50 confirmations and was baptized and did baptisms 25 times. After the session Elder Richards and Elder Yaringaño had to go to a doctors appointment and so we did more baptisms and stuff until our zone arrived and finished their session. I was in the water for 2 hours straight.
After we left the temple we ate with our zone and I got to talk to Elder Parker and some of the other people I knew. I ate a Lomito Arabe (Beef burrito thing), really good and it´s huge. Elder Soria says that Alejandro thinks we have abandoned him and isn´t going to church anymore and is still drinking and cries whenever he talks about us. I really wanted to send him a letter, but the mail hasn´t come. Elder Soria also said that only one person out of all the people we´ve found got baptized. Ugh. I really thought Ramon Perez would get baptized, but his girlfriend is Catholic and he doesn´t want to dump her (Like I said he should).
So we called the assistants on somebody else´s phone to get them to come fix our phone, they said they would come pick us up at the temple, but we waited for 3 hours and they never showed. So we had to use the distribution center´s phone to call them and they said to just go to the Terminal. We went to the terminal and met back up with Elder Richards who had a new chip for us. We waited for a bus and got back home at 2am. Fun Stressful Day¡

Wednesday
Taught a crazy German named Remi for the 3rd time. He was actually chill this time though. It kinda surprised me.

Thursday
Walked to and from Los Colonos (1hr both ways) and didn´t teach anyone, so we ate at Pizza Boom which is the first good paraguayan pizza place i´ve eaten at. I´ve been using personal money to get by. It has other stuff I want to try too, like calzones, hot dogs, hamburgers, empanadas, lomitos, etc. Our plan guasu only lasted 1hr and a half today.

Friday
My companion got sick and it rained a ton.

Saturday
Found a bus that goes to Los Colonos. It rained. Didn´t find a bus back. Taught only 1 lesson out of all the appointments we made.

Sunday
Only two hours of chuch because only 8 adults came and 12 kids, that includes us. It rained at night and it is super freezing now. We are not having success.

That´s all for now. Love ya¡
