Zac got transferred again. He is in Obligado
Dearest family,
Today I will tell you about last weeks events. Next P-day I´ll give more detailed information about changes. For now all I´m going to tell you is this.
I got changed¡ Good luck finding me on Google maps in the future. So Lucerito 1.1 and 1.2 are now one area. Elder Parker went to Encarnacion and I went a little further to a place called Obligado. My new area includes Trinidad and Capitan Miranda, so I have to cover 3 cities and help 3 branches. Fun. Anyways this place is beautiful and there is a huge community of Germans¡ Wie heiss du? My new companion´s name is Elder Ayola, he is from Columbia, and he is 27 years old. Wow. Anyways there is a lot of things I could say about him, but I don´t have tons of time. I´m not sure what to think about him yet anyways. So I´ll tell you more later.
Ok now down to buisness I hope that was enough information for you guys. So last week there was a schedule change so we did everything half an hour early. Which was good because it gets dark at 5:30pm and nobody is outside and they won´t answer the door. Now that it´s getting colder people are just going to start ending the day earlier. Then 3 days later the schedule changed back to normal for some reason. That sucked because we are just walking around form 8 to 9 doing absolutely nothing¡ Around 7pm it starts turning into a Ghost town.
In Lucerito we had an awesome investigator whose name is Ramón Peréz. He is 23. I am positive he will get baptised, especially because he finally came to church on sunday. Before he didn´t really want to. We have taught him the Restoration, the Plan of Salvation, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he liked it all; But for some dumb reason he was afraid to go to Church. I think it´s because he was worried that we would make him to wierd stuff. He used to go to the Catholic church so I can see where he got that idea. He is praying and reading the Book of Mormon to find out if it is true. The day before we left Elder Parker and I taught him the Law of Chastity, so he could receive an answer. He said that he would talk to his girlfriend and would try to obey it. He is really progressing. He promised us that he would still go to church and talk to the Other Elders after we leave. He is awesome. So we took a picture exchanged emails and we´ll facebook each other in a year and a half.
One day we were outside and it rained really hard. It came out of nowhere and the wind was so strong it rained sideways. We went inside a mechanic´s metal gazeebo thing and we still got soaked. The lightning was so bright it was blinding and the thunder was so loud it made the metal roof shake and dogs bark.
I withdrew money for my new shoes, but I didn´t order them before I went to my new area, so now it´ll take forever to get them. I made a wallet of pass along cards, but then Alejandro wanted it, so then I tried to make a new one and it just isn´t as good. There is a picture of Jesus on the front and a Book of Mormon on the back with "La Iglesia de Jesucristo de Los Santos de Los Últimos Días" in gold on the back. It has a pocket for money, change, and a secret pocket behing the Picture of Jesus. When you open it there is a picture of the temple too. It´s cool.
Fast Sunday Elder Parker and I went to eat with a guy who has a calling in the stake as a secretary. Soon he is going to to get sealed to his wife and baby in the Temple. Anyways we come over and they prepared enough food for an army. I was hungry, but they just wouldn´t stop giving me food. I ate 3 pieces of meat about as big as Marisa´s fist, some roast beef, rice, salad with potatoes, Mandioka, Bread, Sausages, and pear juice that was actually quite good. I was so stuffed it was hard to move. They even tried giving us more, but I couldn´t handle it. Anyways later it was the Cerro Vs. Olympia game so we only got 2 lessons with less actives, cuz nobody was interested. By the was Alejandro has been drinking more and I´d like you to pray for him. He always drinks when he feels alone and I don´t know how to help him, because he won´t go visit with the members. The members are always visiting him, but he still struggles. You can tell when he is drunk because he doesn´t wear a shirt. A investigator named Exdi Jaime a 60yr old guy has been visiting him more so I hope that helps. Exdi will probably get baptized in a 2 weeks if he goes to church this sunday.
It kinda sucks that I got transferred because I had so many good investigators. We found at least 12 people who I am sure will get baptized.
So what´s the deal with Osama Bin-Laden? I was told that he´s dead, but that´s all I know. President Callan told us, for security purposes, that we can´t tell people that we are from the US. If they persist we have permission to lie. I wanted to say I´m German, but that won´t fly in my new area. Where should I be from? I want your opinions¡
Well I am out of time. The last thing I want to say is that my house is a disaster and I need to go and clean it now.
¡!¡Love ya´ll¡!¡
Elder Zachary James Singson.
